For fifty years, we’ve been losing the War on Poverty because we are overlooking the most powerful tool in our arsenal: The initiative and ingenuity of the people living in it. Watch to learn about a new approach to ending poverty and how it is already working at a radically fast pace to change communities.

Chrismaldi Vasquez is a lifelong organizer, activist and director of Boston’s Family Independence Initiative Boston, which partners with over 700 families as they work together to change the way we talk about poverty in America.

This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx
