This video shows developing honey bee larvae (Apis mellifera) which are reared in-vitro and fed with an artificial diet. The study has a duration of 22 days. This rearing method is described in the OECD Guidance Document on Honey Bee Larval Toxicity Tests following Repeated Exposure (Series on Testing & Assessment No. 239). As an important part of the worldwide pollinator risk assessment, this type of study helps to understand the influence of plant protection products on the development of immature honey bees. Eurofins Agroscience Services offers larval toxicity tests in Germany, Spain and in the USA. By Jakob H. Eckert and Holger Bargen
