DDOT is making some of the city's busiest streets safer for pedestrians by installing HAWK (High-Intensity Activated crossWalK) signals. For pedestrians, a HAWK works like other push button traffic signals. For motorists, a HAWK differs from the traditional stoplight - it displays standard signal indications but in a new sequence.
