In April 2016 Apple withdrew support for QuickTime for Windows following identified security vulnerabilities. Uninstalling QuickTime for Windows is therefore now advised. But many video professionals still rely on QuickTime to play Apple ProRes and other mov files. Here I offer a pragmatic solution, as well as discussing the broader implications. OK, so this turns into a bit of a rant! :)
