Chris examines the self-made space in the age of social media. How do we navigate emergent social norms and boundaries; and how does language impact our understanding of our selves within this context? These are just some of the questions Chris broaches in this talk about liminality.

Chris Campanioni seeks to blur boundaries. He has worked as a journalist, model, and actor, and he currently teaches literature and creative writing at the City University of New York. He was awarded the Academy of American Poets Prize at Lincoln Center in 2013, and his novel, Going Down, was selected as Best Debut Novel for the 2014 International Latino Book Awards.

This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx
