Sparks flew at this week's Hillsborough School Board meeting as over 75 parents and concerned citizens voiced outrage that the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) spokesman Hassan Shibly spoke at the Steinbrenner School. CAIR founder Omar Ahmed has openly stated that Sharia Law should be the dominant law in America. Randy McDaniel of Act for America stated that if Sharia Law is adopted, it would overturn the Constitution. McDaniel stated to the Board: "CAIR's teaching violates the Establishment clause of the Constitution by calling for Islam to be the dominant religion, and Sharia the dominant law. The U.S. Constitution forbids an official state religion such as is the case in Iran, and Syria."
