Lakepointe Industrial Park Kenmore Washington, this video is to provide documentation of questionable hazardous waste and toxic activity on a small peninsula of land(45 acres) on the north end of Lake Washington bordering the Sammamish River(slough).Until the last 6 months the land had been allowed to heal and a natural cover of grasses, trees and wildlife were flourishing. This property was a landfill for construction demolition of homes and businesses that were taken down and removed to this property for the Interstate 5 freeway in the early 1960's. At that time there were no concerns about the toxins that would be buried. This Video taken on 12-17-2008, is at least the third large barge of liquid sludge brought into the property and unloaded in the last 6 weeks. We do not know what is in the sludge that is being unloaded and dumped into a large unlined bulldozed and backhoed man made pit, dug out in Oct. 2008.The liquid from this sludge is allowed to leech down into the ground and once it has dried, turns black and oily looking. This operation is daily expanding the size of the pit and bringing in other salvage from..we don't know where, such as tires, concrete, pilings, asphalt, etc and polluting the entire peninsula and shorelines. The Dept of Ecology, previous to this new use of the property had listed it as a hazardous waste site and a clean up was to have begun in 2001. Until now nothing has been done and the property was not disturbed. The company that leases the land began cutting trees
and grading and backhoeing with no regard for any of the environment or history of the property.
