PSPAD is a text editor with built in ftp client. This annotated video shows how to find, download and install pspad. This real time installation was performed on a six to eight year old acer aspire 1310 laptop with contemporary video graphics card and no more than 512 mb RAM. I recently bought it in order to convert it to an ftp server.
FTP client application PSPad is a programmers editor supporting multiple syntax highlighting profiles. It's pre-configured for most popular programming languages like VB, C++, SQL, PHP, ASP, Python etc. PSPad features include support for project, file browsing, custom shortcuts, built-in FTP client for editing files directly on the remote server and much more. For an example of the use of pspad, see youtube.com/watch?v=s0Vs7ygpvks (Create website (local and remote) with easyphp, pspad and filezilla).
A shortcoming is that you'd need a seperate ftp client like filezilla for high speed management of video, audio and image files and complete folders on the remote server. For instructions on downloading and installing filezilla, see youtube.com/watch?v=oEjHl2W45hw
