Pope Francis has received the President of the Republic of El Salvador, Carlos Mauricio Funes Cartagena. During cordial talks, satisfaction for the good relations existing between the Holy See and the Salvadoran State. Particular attention was given to the figure of the Servant of God Oscar Romero, the former Archbishop of San Salvador, and the importance of his witness for the entire nation.
