Vegan Devil Food Cake Recipe

In honor of Britney Spears new album release, we will be making:
Vegan Devils Food Cake with Chocolate Genache, Chocolate buttercream and strawberry filling, atopped with chocolate covered strawberries.

Devils Food Cake:
2 cups All purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
3/4 tsp baking powder
3/4 tsp salt
12 tbsp vegan margarine
2 1/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup cocoa powder
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/4 cup water + 4 tbsp ener G egg replacer
1/4 cup non dairy milk, I like almond milk
3 tsp energ egg replacer
1/4 cup applesauce
1 tbsp white vinegar
15 Strawberries

Vegan Chocolate Buttercream Frosting:
1/4 cup vegan margarine
1/4 cup vegetable shortening
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 cocoa powder

Vegan Chocolate Genache:
1/4 cup sugar
1/3 cup vegan margarine
3/4 cup cocoa powder
1 cup non dairy milk

How to make vegan devils food cake:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to mix together vegan butter and sugar.

Then blend in flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

In a saucepan, over high heat, bring water and non dairy milk to a boil.

In a small bowl mix together, EnerG egg replacer and water, then add that to the larger mixing bowl, along with applesauce, vinegar, vanilla extract, and boiling water mixture.

Mix until well combine.

Add the mixture to cake pans or cupcake pans and bake for 30 minutes, or until a tooth pick can be removed clean from the center.
