Few names in the fashion world are as powerful as Frida Giannini. The Italian designer behind the Gucci empire came from humble beginnings but always had big dreams.

In 2002, Giannini became the design director of handbags at Gucci. In 2006, she was promoted to Creative Director for the entire Gucci label.

"In the beginning it was really hard because I felt a strong responsibility on my shoulders. I didn't know how to manage it. It's all about the experience, so you have to start to learn, do mistakes, to fall and to rise again. That's all part of this job as a designer and life in general."

Named the best designer of 2013, Giannini is now invested in Chime for Change- an organization that focuses on empowering girls around the globe by providing better health, education and investing on women's rights.

So far, this effort, with the help of aritsts like Beyonce, Salma Hayek, and Madonna, has been able to raise over $50 million for the cause.

Pedro Andrade sat down for a one-on-one interview with Giannini to talk about her journey, her future plans and what truly inspires her. Visit us at: http://www.fusion.net
