After winning gold at both the Albertville 1992 and the Lillehammer 1994 Olympic Winter Games, German luge rider Georg Hackl was once again in the spotlight.
At the 1998 Nagano Games, Hackl survived a protest against his new, aerodynamically advanced yellow booties to earn a third gold medal. In doing so, he became only the sixth person in the history of the Winter Games to win the same individual event three times.
