This is the REAL live version of Uudam's first performance on China's Got Talent 2011. His performance of a Mongolian song called "Mother in the Dream" made him an instant celebrity in China. Lyrics (my own translation, based on Chinese translation):
1) In the stillness among the vast lands I dream of Mother praying for me She looks afar and gives precious milk to the heavens As offering for my well-being My Mother, so far away. 2) Stars twinkle above the grasslands while In my dream I see Mother's caring face As she prays to the heavens to wish me godspeed My Mother, so far away. 3) In my dream I see Home basking in golden sunbeam While Mother softly sings an enchanting melody There in the grasslands lies my everlasting home My dearest Mother, wait for my return. My dearest Mother, wait for my return.
Most videos of the same performance found on the net are the televised version, which the show replaced Uudam's singing with studio recording by another boy Baator Dorji in postproduction before broadcast. Thus the singing that impressed TV audiences was sung by Baator and wrongly attributed to Uudam. The show and the station have thus far vehemently denied any wrongdoing, but both Baator Dorji and the Colorful Hulunbeier Children's Choir (which both Baator & Uudam belonged) have both identified the singing in the televised version as Baator Dorji's work from the Choir's 1st studio album. This is the live/real version of Uudam's performance on the show.
