རང་ལུས་མེར་བསྲེག་གི་ལས་་འགུལ། Self Immolation: The Growing Protest Trend Kunleng discusses the increasing number of protests through self burning, their causes, and their possible impact on the repressive situation inside Tibet. News update: Two civilian ex-monks, Choepel and Khayang, are reported to have committed self immolation protests in Ngaba at 11:30AM on October 7. There are unconfirmed reports that Choepel, aged 19, died at the scene, while the condition of Khayang (also known as Lunyang), aged 18, is unknown. Khayang's uncle was reported to have been shot and killed in March 2008 during peaceful protest. There have now been seven self-immolations in Tibet since March, all within the same region.
