Middle ear disease in adults and children is primarily due to Eustachian tube dysfunction. At Children's Hospital, our specialists -- including Dr. Charles Bluestone, Dr. Doug Swarts, and Dr. William Doyle -- developed the Pressure Chamber, which is used to increase or decrease the pressure around a person to test their Eustachian tube function.
