How to Fix the iPhone/iPad/iPod Home Button

Many iPhone 4 owners complain about problems using the Home button. Sometimes it's a hardware problem and the only solution is to send the device in for service. You have the home button unresponsive problem? You can no longer perform a double click or you have to press several times to operate it? Probably just a software problem, solved with a re-calibration. It seems in fact that iOS is suffering from some sort of bug, which, in many cases, it really makes it difficult to use the Home button.

To calibrate the home button, follow these steps:

1) Open any application installed on your iPhone. (Make sure you open a stock app. It doesn't work if you open iFile or certain other jailbreak apps)

2) Press and hold the power button until the slide to shutdown swipe bar appears.

3) Release the power button do NOT slide off.

4) Press and hold Home button lightly until screen returns to icon screen.

5) Now your Home Button is recalibrated and ready for use!

After this procedure, if the Home button still does not work well, then it's a hardware problem.
