This is a updated version of my most amazing metal detecting find. I went out with a buddy to metal detect an old foundation which was now in the middle of a horse pasture. It was close to the end of our hunt when I got a great signal and dug it up. I was shocked at what I saw... It was the first gold ring I had ever found, and it was a big one!! After the brief celebration, my thoughts went to the person who lost it, and the mystery of how the ring ended up there. So I decided to do a little detective work to track down the original owner. The ring I found was a big 1960 gold class ring from a nearby high school. With a little research, I found that the school keeps the photos of each graduating class and hangs them up in the main hallway. I went to the school and walked the halls till I found the class of 1960, and it only took a few minutes to find the one guy with the same initials that were on the ring. I instantly punched his name into Google on my phone and to my surprise, he was the first person to pop up. I gave him a call, and set up a meeting so I could return it to him. He and his wife were thrilled to see the ring again after over fifty years of being lost, and I was glad I could be a part of its return.
