Hey,
once again I wanted to surprise you guys with a PF video. I had this desire to work on something like this since quite some time again, so I asked my followers on facebook, if they are planning to release a map / know a good new PF map. That was when Chadox messaged me about his almost finished PF map "Phase Finale". The first preview, I found, was amazing and I encouraged him to finish it (as if he wouldn't do it anyway) for a video I would make.
Fast forward from December to the end of February, when I finished most of my exams, I had the head free for some work on a video. That was when he messaged me again, notifying me that the map is finished and I could start editing. Not kidding, it took me 5 whole days to make the cameras on that map. It's definetly one of the most difficult things I did in the last 5 years of editing. Comparing it to Principium Finis, I had a lot less space than usual, having to thread the camera carefully through the mess of pipes and scenery blocks.
Funny thing: I started editing with camera path (easier, but 'harder' camera) in MP. I literally made cams for 40 seconds TWICE before I chose to put even more time into it and edit it all with camera custom. I think it was worth the extra time.
To the music: I've been listening to a lot of unusual stuff (for me) the last couple of weeks. I listen to a lot of music; many different genres and styles. Drum and Bass, Hardcore (this video), HipHop and most of their subgenres included. I got bored of dnb pretty quick, so I went on a spree looking for new music and then I discovered Endless Heights. I really fell in love with their new album so why not do a video with it (and using the extra advantage of not having it licensed under a big label = not blocked in Germany). Might not be your cup of tea, but well, rather polarizing than doing the same thing over and over.
Another BTW: This is my first 100 % lagarith video (Lagarith is a lossless codec used for exporting Trackmania Video e.g.). I used Indeo all the time, but I think I had to make the step forward at some point. I tried to use Adobe Premiere for this project too, but I will probably never get used to it. No video editor is faster than Sony Vegas (atleast no video editor I know).
I hope you enjoyed it. I will probably take a small break from video editing until I release We are Trackmania. I've been working on this as enthusiastic as possible so far, but the project slowly begins to lack motivation and time. I renewed alot the past couple of months inside it and I still don't feel good about it. Welp.
