An environmental coalition came to Harrisburg in January 2012 to rally in support for existing law. The state legislature looked to strip communities of their traditional power of Zoning.
Communities have always been able to say what kind of businesses and industries could be built in their towns and where, but the Pennsylvania legislature wants to carve out a special exception for natural gas drillers, so that they could put explosive well pads right next to homes or schools.
