In ontario, The fish spawn between march and the beginning of june. The best time to catch them, when they bite just about anything is in the beginning of june, just as the spawning is ending. They are also out of season for that particular time, which is annoying. One summer hits they are harder to catch. You guys are lucky that you can catch them while they spawn, im jealous.

I like taking a dinky little fly rod when the fish are on beds...Leech patterns with extra long tails are killers, the rate of fall is super slow and the marabou really "flows" well.
