Why do people think German is an ugly language? Sure its very choppy at times but if you've ever spoken to a German person in German it flows beautifully sometimes, its mostly consonants and people in the USA only really see it in media and its portrayed as always yelling and shouting but I can speak Italian, Spanish, German, English and Latin and I'd have to say German is my favorite one.

I like German very much and I wish I could speak it fluently as well, but I just can't listen to a German song from the beginning to end.

"Märchen schreibt die Zeit" is more like "Fairytales written by time" it is one of the german things where the subject and the object is switcht, not uncommen in german poesy. German in general is gramaticaly not as stricktly structured as english.

+A Meier That's why I said "accurate enough". It happens with a lot of these Disney translation videos where I sometimes think "You know, that could've been translated to closer resemble the "original" sentence... but whatever..."
A Meier
+Alneon Well technicaly you right, but the the way "Märchen schreibt die Zeit" is structured it has more emphasis on the "Märchen/Fairytail" part and less on the Time part. "Die Zeit schreibt Märchen" it is the other way around, a very subtl difference but a still a difference. Its not the time is the importand part but the farytail. But yea it is just nitpicking.

Actually it means: Time writes Fairytales - Nothing else. Trust me. - FOR THE GERMAN ONES OUT THERE: Ja, ich weiss genau wovon ich da rede. Im Grunde heisst es in der Zeile ja, dass Zeit Märchen schreibt.

Pablo Domínguez Gozalo
+Abby Curtin The lyrics are in German, in English it's the translation, non the original song.

can someone explain this sentence for me "Ab in den Schrank mit dir, Tassilo". The parts "ab" and "mit dir" confuse me
Leandro Meneghin
sentences beginning with AB mostly of the case means "Lets go", indicates an imperative mood. Look for the song "Ab in den Süden" too!
