Learning often ends when students see a grade, says Starr Sackstein, an Education Week blogger and author of Hacking Assessment: 10 Ways to Go Gradeless in a Traditional Grades School. In this video, she offers some quick tips for teachers who want to stop marking student progress with letters and numbers, and instead focus on making learning ongoing. Among other things, she says, teachers should redirect students who ask, “What did I get?” to instead ask, “What did I learn?”
