Watch Kuri tackle The Stone Guard with his guild on beta! After we down them (quite easily, I might add), the raid decided to do a tour of the full instance. Quite a nice ambiance in Mogu'shan Palace, if you ask me.
The Stone Guard Basics: - Dogs fill energy bars that make them explode at 100% - Energy bars fill when dogs are around another dog - The trick is to have tanks taunt them across the room before explosions happen - Explosions are necessary to remove your Petrify debuff, so you'll occasionally want a forced explosion - DPS & Healers need to watch out for dog effects on the ground (purple waves, etc.), but they don't hurt much - Healers have ample time to heal explosion bursts (~40% HP per explosion) before next explosion if taunts are coordinated correctly
The Stone Guard Heroic Guesses: - There will likely be a 4th dog where there's currently rubble / no statue (far right) - Energy ramp-up will probably be faster - Explosions will probably hit the raid harder and require group stacking for CDs to survive said explosions
Overall, this was a severely untertuned fight because Blizzard was testing the dog mechanics moreso than difficulty. We will likely see a HP and damage increase as testing progresses!
