A gear train for a knex clock that can be started by a clock and that stops itself automatically at a pre-set point. The stopping cam, the black piece with the white peg on it that rotates with the main wheel, rotates around and catches on the lever just to the left and above it. This pulls on the bell cranks that lift the finger piece that stops the gear train automatically. The string can be made any length to fit any size clock movement and almost any configuration. A disk with nothches in its outside edge could replace the single cam, so the gear train can be made to stop anywhere in a full rotation. I'm going to use this mechanism to operate the hour hand on my next clock, obviously the disk will have 12 evenly spaced notches in it.
I may make a how to build video that shows the actual levers and bell cranks better.
I hope you like it!
