I modified this Mamod kit back in the 1980's to create a Heywood style loco in 16mm scale, but here it is running with a 7/8" scale driver and stock. I struggled to make it run slow enough for single handed filming, so have used the iMovie half speed option for all but one clip. This lowers the tone of the chuff and makes the little Mamod sound a bit like a Roundhouse Fowler!
The loco has replacement wheels and cylinders, a regulator and bodywork fabricated from steel and brass. The lubricator and sandboxes were made from old cartridge cases and the chimney is part of a wartime stirrup pump. The gas burner is a modified Roger Marsh one and the boiler is original.
And yes, I did spot that the brake van roof wasn't on properly, but only when I was editing. But did you spot Bodkin's tail?
