Mika Hakkinen crashes his Mclaren into the barrier in qualifying. Gp australia 95. He was in coma for some time.
Recovering from this severe crash and going on to fully regaining his confidence and speed, becoming world champion twice (1998, 1999).

Mika owes his life to the two expert medics that luckily happened to be very close to the site of crash and attended Hakkinen before his brain ran completely out of oxygen to become permanently damaged or dead because that was what was happening. He couldn't breathe, he had swallowed his tongue, they punctured his trachea to deal with that. Of course Watkins took over after but that happened some minutes later and by then Mika was already out of danger.
