As several Caribbean islands counted their losses due to Hurricane Irma, they were being warned on Friday to prepare for another storm as Hurricane Jose threatened to follow a similar path.

Irma roared through the Leeward Islands causing extensive damage particularly in St Barts, St Martin and Barbuda before heading to the Turks and Caicos Islands and The Bahamas as it moves along a projected path towards the US state of Florida.

In other news, the National Security Council insisted on Tuesday that the decision to declare Mount Salem in St James as the first zone of special operations was justified, despite the embarrassing revelation that erroneous murder figures were provided by the police and used as part of the criteria for the decision.

On the crime scene, police have charged 21-year-old Romario Brown with the murder of fashion designer Dexter “3D” Pottinger.

It was later revealed that Brown is implicated in the 2016 murder of a woman, and was recently bailed out of jail by Pottinger.
