The Snow Bones are a trombone ensemble comprised of players from The College of Saint Rose, Illinois State University, The University of Southern Florida, The Eastman School of Music and The Crane School of Music. The ensemble started out as a trombone quintet, which toured in December of 2010, and has grown to a group of thirteen trombonists and a percussionist. The ensemble includes students from the undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate levels who are majoring in music education, music industry and performance. While much of our repertoire for the tour is based around the Christmas Season, we will also be performing other trombone ensemble standards. Including the Octet for Trombones by Gordon Jacob, Canzona by Walter Hartley, Tower Music by Vaclav Nelhybel and The Adventures of the Escapist by Greg Danner.

In 2011, we toured over ten schools and gave three night concerts in the Albany and Upstate New York areas from the 19th to the 22th of December.
