The 2016-17 season of the award-winning Visionary Conversations series launched with a discussion about moving from theory to action in reconciliation, one year after the inauguration of the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation. President and Vice-Chancellor Dr. David T. Barnard will host the panel discussion.


Nahanni Fontaine: [MA/01] MLA for St. Johns, and NDP critic for Status of Women; Persons with Disabilities; Families; and Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls.

Tina Keeper: Winnipeg-based media producer, President of Kistikan Pictures and former Member of Parliament for the federal riding of Churchill.

Lenard Monkman: associate producer for CBC Aboriginal, co-founder of Red Rising Magazine, and University of Winnipeg student

Ry Moran: Director of the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation at the University of Manitoba.
