(Structure fire Cheyenne) A elderly female was critically injured after attempting to locate her dog inside her burning home this morning just after 8 am on Cheyenne street on the south end of town.




(Structure Fire Calvary) Another homeowner attempting to save his structure last night put himself in danger and delayed firefighters attempts to stifle the blaze.
(AX RO PVB) This is something we don't see every day here in Pahrump, two people walking away uninjured from a rollover automobile accident. Especially as fast as this one is said to have been traveling.
(Dead Korean Guy reader with photo) Kim Jong Il, the North Korean dictator who ruled over one of the poorest, most belligerent and isolated countries in the world, has died. Kim died of heart failure while travelling by train on Saturday at 8:30 a.m. local time, the country's state-run news agency reported. State media said the 69-year-old died of a heart ailment on a train because of a "great mental and physical strain" during a "high-intensity field inspection."
(NHP Fatal reader no photo) Nevada Highway patrol has issued a press release regarding a fatal accident over the weekend. Yesterday morning at approximately 8:34, A gold and white Ford Explorer was traveling on the I-215 eastbound to I-15 southbound transition ramp in the #2 travel lane. The driver of the Ford Explorer was traveling too fast for conditions and lost traction on the wet roadway according to the report. The Ford Explorer ultimately overturned on the left rock shoulder of the transition ramp. The right front passenger, Margaret M. Crinigan of Las Vegas, was transported to UMC where she was pronounced dead at 2 pm
(Owens Sentencing) On April 24th 2008 Kelvin Owens murdered Bridgett Va-va-Knees on the southend of town, by shooting the mother of two and grandmother of one in the head then shooting himself in the mouth dislodging a tooth that went through his eye. Kelvin Owens was treated for his injuries Bridgett lost her life. Today in Judge Lanes courtroom Kelvin was sentenced to 10 years to life for his crime.

(Semi Tractor reader with photo) On Saturday, at 11:33pm, the Clark County Fire Department responded to north bound I-15 at mile marker 9. Mile marker 9 is nine miles from the California state line, between Primm and Jean. A semi tractor trailer traveling north noticed a problem with the dual tires on his trailer, and stopped. The bearings had overheated, and his rear tires were on fire. The driver disconnected the tractor from the trailer, and attempted to extinguish the fire, but it was too large by that time. The driver was hauling a refrigerated trailer full of yogurt. The fire was under control within 10 minutes. There were no injuries. The trailer and its contents were a total loss.

(NHP Gift reader no photo) Troopers from the Nevada Highway Patrol will be giving out gifts to the children in the pediatric units at three local hospitals on Wednesday December 21st. Starting at University Medical Center and moving on to Sunrise Hospital and finishing with St. Rose Sienna Campus. Troopers voluntarily donate from their paychecks all year to pay for toys that they hand out to the children. These gifts will hopefully help lift the spirits of children in intensive care during the holiday season. This will be the 14th year this event has taken place in Las Vegas.
(Unemployment Reader no photo) Nevada's unemployment rate fell in November for the first time since May, to a seasonally-adjusted 13 percent. The rate is down nearly two percentage points from the same time last year, pushing the estimate of jobless Nevadans down to 171,800 from 198,200.
