Nick swallowed the lump in his throat, and coughed. He shook his head, knowing that he had to get enough information on this. He couldn't possibly jump to any conclusions yet. Nick straightened out his tie before continuing, "How long have you been suspicious of this affair?"

"6 months now." Steven continued to look down at his hands, sadness filling his eyes.

"Have you ever caught them together?"

"Well, there was this one time that I caught them out to dinner. They were holding hands, and they got a booth in the far back of the restaurant. I asked an older couple who sat near them what they were doing, and they said that Chris couldn't keep her hands off her, and they talked about going back to her place for the night." Steven choked out the words, now letting tears fall down his cheeks.

"When you learned of Leah's kidnapping, why did you run from us instead of just telling us this?" Nick asked.

"Because I knew that the guy last seen with the victim was always considered a suspect. I thought that if they couldn't catch me, they would eventually give up and just find another suspect . . ."

Nick nodded, and licked his lips. "Alright, we're done here for tonight. It was nice speaking with you, Steven."

Selena had taken a long walk around the neighborhood that night. She couldn't face Chris or anybody after the humiliation she had on her shoulders of losing her job. She sniffled and wiped at her runny nose as she let thoughts ponder through her head. How could any of this happen? She lost her job, she was sure to lose Chris once he found out about Nick, and she kept pushing Nick away...Her life was a complete mess. SHE was a complete mess. She began to feel weak, her legs shook as they struggled to keep stable. She collapsed onto a bench, and broke down.

Her stomach twisted and turned, her tears blurring her vision. Her lower lip trembled, and she bit her lip trying to calm herself down. She decided to collect herself, and dabbed at her eyes with a tissue she found in her purse. She knew she shouldn't be thinking these miserable thoughts . . . Chris was her fiancee, the love of her life, he had to understand and be supportive. She was ready to soak in the comfort in the arms of her fiancee.

When she unlocked the door, she found herself speaking to herself as nobody answered her call. She looked around the kitchen, and noted two small dinner plates with small bits of food left uneaten, and 2 glasses of red wine half full. That was strange. She walked up the steps, and stopped dead in her tracks at the bedroom door. Her breath cut short as she turned the doorknob, revealing a woman laying underneath Chris, her fingers digging into his back. They panted and exchanged seductive whispers as Chris thrusted deeper into the woman. Selena's eyes watered, shaking her head in disbelief.

"C-Chris..." Selena choked out.

Chris looked to her, his eyes widening. He pulled out of the woman immediately, and ran over to Selena. He tried to pull her in for a hug but she rejected it.

"How could you?!" Her voice filled with disgust, hurt, and confusion.

"I'm sorry, Selena! Let me expla---"

"No, don't even touch me!" Selena broke down into tears as she ran down the hallway and slammed the door behind her as she ran out of the house.
