'Morgen' (Tomorrow), Opus 27, no. 4 by Richard Strauss (1864-1949), with words by John Henry Mackay. Performed by the Mezzo Soprano Marianne Lihannah and the Harpist Charlotte Poulter in Trellech Church, Wales.

This unique song is one of the 4 glorious songs that Strauss presented to his beloved Pauline (a distinguished singer) on their wedding day in 1894.
The words are very romantic; here is a translation from the German of some of the words:
“And tomorrow the sun will shine again. And on the path that I will be following she will (the sun) unite us again, - us happy ones.
In silence we will gaze into one another’s eyes and the silent silence of happiness will descend on us.”

All the best
Marianne Lihannah and Charlotte Poulter
