The complete compilation of electric utility poles burning and toasty. Most of these clips are from Oct 2017 Tubbs Fire region. Interestingly, the utility poles burning at random seem to be a pattern unique to that specific event, and the poles there were the first to smolder and catch fire and burn from the inside out - before the houses and any trees or brush. The emergency calls came in in random locations as well, indicating that the Tubbs fire in Sonoma County started in multiple separate areas without any visible front of fire. Poles and lines went down first in rural areas and the mystery underground fire traversed the roads down toward Santa Rosa where it destroyed 5,000 structures. Lawyers were trying to blame the power company PG&E but now that the whole state is burning up it doesn't seem likely. Interesting that utility poles seemed to do better in other regions where fire devastated the landscape. I am not sure what that means but I have been noticing different variations of effects from different fire events, making it all more random.
