Energizer's EcoAd Positivity Campaign provided funding for the installation of a solar thermal hot water system at Hope Manor Apartments. 30% of Hope Manor's energy costs are for domestic hot water. The solar thermal panels can operate year round and are expected to offset 65-70% of the annual domestic hot water needs.
Hope Manor will provide supportive housing for up to 50 homeless American military veterans in need of immediate and intensive services, as well as affordable housing for up to 30 American military veterans requiring less intensive, but longer-term housing and support.
CBS EcoMedia Partnered with Volunteers of America of Illinois to bring Energizer advertising dollars to this important project.
