After leaving a Ska show at (Sire's) The Joint niteclub, on Pico in Los Angeles, California -- Thursday night, June 6, 2011, I drove up to Hollywood. It was about 2 a.m. and Hollywood Blvd was jam-packed with party and club goers between Cahunga Blvd and Highland Ave. I walked from Cherokee along Hollywood Blvd. towards La Brea. A few stars in from La Brea at the beginning of the Hollywood Walk of Fame is Bob Marley's star. I noticed someone sketch a pig on Gong's star. I could not leave Gong's star with a swine on it. So I walked to 7-Eleven on Sunset Blvd and La Brea and bought a roll of paper towel, cleansing powder and a bottle of water. I returned to Gong's star and scrubbed removing trenton. Then paid homage by displaying Rastaman Vibration CD, a BMW key, a Bob Marley's beverage and a Global Rock Showcase flyer with Dennis Alcapone and Winston Reedy. Appropriate since Dennis Alcapone shared the stage with Gong in Brooklyn in the 70's. Jus' gonna keep a positive vibration and say the pig was not willfully sketched. Other stars were tagged also. I think this artist was just tagging the big stars' stars for notice -- simular to Shep Fairey Obey street stencils and Keith Haring graffiti street art. Hey man -- Rastafarians do not deal with pigs man. Ease off the Gong's star man! PEACE!! Bigups Haile Maskel and Angry Mike!!
