New video shows an upscale high-rise apartment building in Gaza City destroyed in a cloud of fire and smoke during an Israeli airstrike.
Israel bombed the 12-story apartment building, called the Zafer Tower in the Tel al-Hawa neighborhood, today as Hamas continued to fire rockets towards the Israeli border.
The Palestine Interior Ministry released footage of the bombing, showing the apartment collapsing after being hit twice by Israeli bombs. The building goes down in seconds as onlookers scream and rush the injured to hospitals. The entire building held 44 residential apartments. Is Israel really just defending itself, or is the Zionist state’s bombardment of Gaza a pre-meditated war crime? At least 10 Palestinians, including six members of one family, lost their lives in an overnight attack on their homes in the city of Rafah in southern Gaza.
Six people, including four children were also killed in Gaza City. According to Palestinian medical sources, at least four others have been wounded in the air raids in Beit Lahia and Gaza City.
The Al-Qassam Brigades, the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas’ military wing, has said that three of its commanders were killed in an Israeli raid on Rafah’s Tal Sultan neighborhood.
Gaza truce collapses, Israel renews air raids
Israel promptly recalled its negotiators from truce talks in Cairo Egyptian attempts to broker an end to a month-long war between Israel and Hamas militants collapsed in heavy fighting Tuesday, with Palestinian militants firing dozens of rockets and Israel responding with airstrikes across the Gaza Strip.

Gaza witnesses said Israeli aircraft launched 35 attacks, including one on a house in Gaza City, where hospital officials said a woman and a two-year-old girl were killed. A third unidentified person also died in the strike, officials said. The Israeli military is using flechette shells, which spray out thousands of tiny and potentially lethal metal darts, in its military operation in Gaza.
Six flechette shells were fired towards the village of Khuzaa, east of Khan Younis, on 17 July, according to the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights. Nahla Khalil Najjar, 37, suffered injuries to her chest, it said. PCHR provided a picture of flechettes taken by a fieldworker last week.
The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) did not deny using the shells in the conflict. “As a rule, the IDF only employs weapons that have been determined lawful under international law, and in a manner which fully conforms with the laws of armed conflict,” a spokesperson said in response to a request for specific comment on the deployment of flechettes.
