Making of: http://youtu.be/jpjkaxeMGak

I made this video for fun and for the love of space travel!
The sounds are added in post-production.
Ultra-resolution, smooth-motion, detail-enhanced, color-corrected, interpolated from the original 4 frames per second to 30 frames per second. This video plays real-time at the speed that Curiosity descended to the surface of Mars on August 6, 2012.

I think it's wonderful that everyone on Earth has a chance to see this amazing footage from Mars :)

Still one of the most impressive accomplishments that humans have ever achieved. Cheers to all involved in this expedition!

That!...... Is the coolest thing I've seen all week. I don't even care that the sound is added. I think it made watching better.:)))

No offense, but if I look to the cover that was ejected and how it goes down very fast, and is smaller and small till you don't see it anymore, then 1 minute after, the rover is landing, and the proportions of the environment look wrong, i mean i expected that dunes also the small craters to be huge as they are seen from above, compared with the ejected cover, but then you see they are not so big when is almost landed....how can you see from that distance that craters and dunes if hey are so small?

You could at least write that the sound is added later ... now many people think it's a fake
