"Thanks to the wonders of digi-things, I've managed to get a copy of my original 'Dreamstone' 5 minute promo converted from my very own crummy VHS copy. I Art Directed it in 1984 at Gerry Smith's Mill Valley Animation Studio in Novato, Marin County, Northern California The animation was directed by Phil Robinson. ..and it was this odd little film that Producer Martin Gates used to sell my odd little story to Central ITV. The series aired from 1990 until 1996. 4 series, 52 x 22 minutes. The sharp-eyed amongst you will notice it's called 'The Dreamthief' - that's because I found out there were half a hundred 'Dreamstones' in the world, and until I'd checked them out for concept, we registered 'Dreamthief' as.the working title It's a bit abrupt at the beginning, that's because I wobbled in from the pub one night, the better for drink, and pressed 'record' instead of 'play'..and got about 30 seconds of cricket hi-lights before I realised I'd stuffed up! The digi-transfer has cut that bit out! (cruel folk will say I cut the wrong bit out, and should have left the cricket!) I drew ALL the backgrounds - which I've been told are now under a landfill site in Manilla...Directed it in California and 'Take One Studio' Seoul, South Korea Anyway, here it is..a bit of VERY obscure history. Oh, and by the way, the voice of Rufus...is that of a 12 year old Christian (Batman) Bale" Mike Jupp - Bognor Regis. Oct. 2010
