Ukulele Bar Chord Chart that I am using is at the end of the video!
Franz Schubert's Ave Maria, is one of my favorite songs. So this is one of the reason I wanted to play it on a Ukulele. I also wanted to share the chords and it's original lyrics, which is in German. This is just for anyone who would like to sing it also.
This song is public domain so it just means that this song is not licensed by anyone anymore, instead it belongs to the public.
There are green chords in this song, to show my version which can be viewed at the end of the video. You could play any chord position you want but if you want to know what bar chords I use, then you should pause the video at the end to look at the chords I made.
I am using a Tenor-Ukulele with a G-C-E-A tuning, and using a low G-string.
The chart at the end of the video shows numbers to denote which fret the chord starts. The rectangle shapes that look like gold-bars shows where to bar the fret with your index finger.
If you are a beginner, these bar chords might be a bit difficult for now, so I suggest using alternate easier chord positions for now until your fingers are stronger then give it a try.
This version of the song is filmed closer, making it easier to see both hands. If you have big fingers like I do, it is very difficult to pick the strings without hitting the others. Hopefully you have thinner fingers to fit between the spaces of these strings.
There will be another video for you to learn some simple exercise to help with finger pattern that I use for this Ave Maria. Of course there is already another video that I made a year ago for this song here on this channel. So just click on the ukulelevis name and it will open on the main channel with more videos.
The first version was filmed from a further distance making it difficult to see the fret board and my fingers.
Have fun with this song and please subscribe if you would like more videos like this. It's free and you will be notified every time I post my weekly videos on this channel.
