Senator Wyden,

It has come to the attention of Anonymous that you played a key role in helping block the archaic PROTECT IP bill for the time being. We feel that the proposal is entirely unacceptable in today's modern technological society. The fact of the matter is that the bill feels very unconstitutional, giving almost limitless power to the government and corporations in regards to matters of internet freedom. Seeing as the internet is something we all use in our daily lives, it is of no surprise that we are quite outraged that something like this would even be considered, let alone passed through congress.

We fully realize that many of us are obviously not from Oregon, and thus you may have no interest in us, but we have a very vested interest in this bill, even though many of us are not even from the United States. If we allow this to be passed, we will be setting the clock back 20 years for everything that so many have fought so diligently for - freedom of information. Your support will be crucial to stomping out this outdated piece of legislature before it is enacted, and thus saving us from a totalitarian regime being integrated into something so crucial to our daily lives (and yours, as well). Make no mistake - if it starts here, it will spread to the rest of the world soon enough, until the internet as we know it now ceases to exist.

The rest of the world has begun fighting back against such tyranny, as everyone who has not been hiding under a rock is surely aware. Imposing more limitations on our freedoms will only serve to enrage people further, and Anonymous refuses to stand idly by while more of the beliefs that we hold sacred are tread upon by power-hungry individuals, corporations, and governments. This is our world now - the world of the electron and the switch, and it is a world where we hold power. Do not think for a moment that we will stand here and let it all be thrown away.

We thank you, deeply, for your continued support in keeping this from ever seeing the light of day. Considering the current state of affairs, we can only imagine how much scrutiny you have and will come under in the following days, weeks, and months. Just know that we are here, and we are watching very closely to this entire series of sad events that should have never began in the first place.

We are Anonymous
We are Legion
We do not forgive
We do not forget
