Our golden rules for driving in costa rica when going on a costa rica vacation

1.always follow the rules of costa rica - Dont speed , you will end up having a high fine.

2.Respect the condition of the roads, most of the roads on the costa rican highway are pretty good but still outside that area and in the more remote locations there worse roads, many potholes and big ones, watch it as you drive.

3. respect nature as you drive, animals crossing such as cows and horses are common mostly in Guanacaste Province and if you drive in the caribbean side of costa rica ( Limon ) there will be sloths as well, please drive slow and respect them
.
4. using a rental car in costa rica? we advice you to take a GPS, but next to it always have a costa rica paper map,or a print of mapquest or google maps of costa rica, GPS might lose signal in some remote areas.

5.Try to avoid looking like a tourist, using a 4wd rental car that comes with an icebox? hide it somewhere and all your bags always below and hidden from sight.

6. In costa rica most of the rental car companies will give you a mobile phone to stay in touch just in case... make sure the phone is charged!! and the same goes for the GPS!! and never leave the GPS in the car.

7. Rented an amazing toyota SUV in costa rica? It doesnt mean crossing a river will be easy with it in costa rica, always use your common sense.

This is a few tips over driving in costa rica, we going to gather more tips and add them to our costa rica driving tips page on our website : www.costaricaadviser.com
