Shaquille O'Neal: Some days I wanted to play basketball, other days I wanted to be a rapper, other days I wanted to be a doctor, so it all started here at the Boys & Girls Club, and you just have to keep in mind it doesn't matter where you're from. It just matters where you're going, so even though you may live in a situation where you're not proud of at the moment but only you can change that and you have to change it first in your mind. You have to be a leader and not a follower and, you know, just like I tell my children, if Shaq can do it you guys can do it.

Question: How does it feel to be the Governor? Is it hard work?

Governor Christie: Well, yes, some days it is. It's not hard to be with Shaq today. This is an easy part of my job. This is the fun part of my job, but yes it feels great to be Governor and I think, just like Shaq said to all of you, the only thing that limits what you can be is how hard you want to work, and Shaq is from Newark and so am I, and so we both came from the same kind of place where you are right now and, you know, you have to dream big dreams and then work hard to make them come true, and so if one of you in here or more of you in here want to be governor some day that can definitely happen for you too because it happened for me, and it's a great job, so if you're looking for it—not right away because I'd like to keep it for a while but in the future you want to be governor you can definitely do that if you want and it's a great job I can tell you for sure. It's a good job to do.

Question: What accomplishments do you achieve?

Governor Christie: Is it for me or for Shaq? All right. Well, every day I try to make the state a better place for everybody who lives here and it's a really great job because every day I have a chance to do that. There's not many jobs in the world where you get a chance to make other people's lives better every day, and I don't make people's lives better every day, I don't, because I'm human, so some days I'm good and some days I'm not as good as I am other days, but I try every day, and every day I wake up in the morning knowing I have one of the most exciting jobs in the world because I have a chance to do that.

Question: How many sneakers have you made?

Shaquille O'Neal: How many sneakers have I made or sold? Sold, since 1992 I've sold—let me check. 300 million pair, and my shoes are only $20 at Wal-Mart and stores like that, so don't waste time trying to buy $350 sneakers when you got the best ones right here for $20.
