This video shows a portion of a dental humanitarian outreach to the Central Pacific on Banaba Island, Republic of Kiribati, in November 2013. Over 65 patients were helped out of pain. Services including the removal of 165 teeth and preventive care. 20% of the population received dental services, and in addition all the school children received dental health instruction.This outreach was made in tandem with the 19 member T33A amateur radio Dxpedition who made over 88,000 radio contacts with 26,000 plus hams world-wide during a 13 day stay. The DXpedition also supplied soccer balls and shoes for the children. Radio equipment at the local medical clinic was worked on, HF radios were installed on an inter-island boat and computers of the locals repaired. Many new friends were made!
