On October 10, 2014, FDNY dispatcher George Munch, a legendary voice on the Brooklyn airwaves, signed off after 36 years.

This is the audio from 18:39 to 19:07, as the greetings started pouring in long before and after his official sign-off.

Units from all over the city—and beyond—called in to wish George well.

As a press photographer, George's voice has guided me and my colleagues to many a fire scene, too, and we join the members of the FDNY in saying that he will be missed.
