On May 23, 2012 Syracuse Academy of Science Charter School had the distinct honor and privilege of hosting our United States Representative Ann Marie Buerkle! Rep. Buerkle shared her official identification used for voting on our nation's laws, gave the school a beautiful medallion on the US Capitol building, and her card with the seal of Congress on it. Rep. Buerkle stressed to the students that each individual must act on their own special and unique talents and values. This is the source of their amazing talent that all possess. Her message was clear, that with school and the right mind-set there are no goals that our students cannot accomplish. On behalf of all the staff and students here at SAS we would like to extend a very heartfelt thank you to Rep. Buerkle and her staff for the wonderful presentation and gifts! She is also working with our students in the high school to arrange a visit to her office in Washington, D.C. as she continues to strive to work for the schools, children, and citizens of the 25th district.
