Goju Ryu Karate Advanced Bunkai/fighting 2 man drill! This advanced 35 step 2 man drill uses Karate Kata applications and fighting combinations from Goju Ryu Karate Kata. Within the drill there are multiple drills for increasing speed, eliminating gaps and counter atacking. There are multiple techniques for blocking and evading against kicks, strikes and punches with the hands open and closed. These techniques and principles are universal and can be used for all styles of Karate and other Martial Arts!
The first section contains 7 of the 35 movements. There are 5 methods of blocking, the mawashi uke (circle block), palm block, back wrist block to the side, downward open hand block and the diagonal back wrist block. The blocks are taken from the following kata, Gekidai dai ni, seiyunchin, tensho and suparenpei. There are 3 methods of striking, the jab punch, reverse punch and the palm strike.
Section 2 has the next 5 of the 35 moves of the drill. There is ducking and evading a hook punch to back fist combination with a back wrist block reverse punch counter. The attacker then attempts a reverse sweep, shuto which is avoided and dead hand blocked.
Section 3 contains 9 more of the 35 moves starting with a reverse spinning sweep, reverse punch to roundhouse kick, back fist combination. The unique kururunfa kata dropping elbow block is employed to redirect a lower body punch. The section finishes out with a hook punch to back fist combination!
