Purdue University professor, Don Platt premieres his poem "Silent Meeting at the Farmers Institute Meeting House" in a reading that took place inside the Farmers Institute Meeting House during their 2012 Quaker Fair, September 1, 2012.

The poem is part of a project called "Landmark Lyrics: Speaking Through Structures from the Past." Landmark Lyrics is a collaborative poetry event from Indiana Landmarks and Brick Street Poetry, Inc. in which more than 20 Hoosier poets focus their creative voices on historic places across the state. Each artist selected a different landmark to inspire a poem. The Farmers Institute Meeting House is in Tippecanoe County 7 miles southwest of Lafayette.
