Presented by: Sergey Tarima, PhD, Division of Biostatistics, Medical College of Wisconsin Analysis of variance (ANOVA) is a standard approach for comparing mean responses among two or more groups. ANOVA generalizes the well known independent samples t-test from two group comparison to several groups. This allows control of the type I error, the major weakness associated with the use of multiple t-tests. In this seminar a set of necessary conditions for ANOVA will be presented along with a detailed consideration of a three group case. SAS statistical package will be used to show how to perform ANOVA testing and interpret the output.
