Botanic Railway station, located centrally of NI Railway's route map, is one of four stations on the network which are served the most frequently. With this higher frequency of services, in order to get the most out of my day, Botanic was chosen to film from for a couple of hours or so.
Seen here in this video are stopping services which operate out of Great Victoria Street to City Hospital, Botanic and Belfast Central, where the services split for the Bangor Line, Larne Line and Londonderry Line. One exception is the Cross-Border Dublin Line, which starts from Belfast Central, and passes through Botanic and City Hospital, then bares left to avoid Great Victoria Street, which is a terminous.
In the first shot, we see the Enterprise pausing breifly to allow a service to Great Victoria Street to clear which was running slightly late. This was also a good opportunity for some still shots of the Enterprise on the "S" bend.
Class 201 Locomotives are used on Enterprise Services, while Class 3000 (C3K) and Class 450's operate the local services.
This video is Part 1 of 4.
