Con solo 27 años, Alonso Salas fue el bombero mas joven de los tres fallecidos en el incendio de una fábrica de zapatos y un almacén del Ministerio de Salud en El Agustino. Era subteniente del Cuerpo General de Bomberos en la Compañía Roma N° 2, del Cercado de Lima.
